The media plays a vital role in conveying important issues to thousands of people and to generating debates around those issues.

Colorectal cancer is currently the most common cause of cancer death in Europe, so there is much to be done. The media can help us to raise awareness and bring about change, in a number of ways, including the following:

• By publishing patient and carer case studies, raising awareness of the experiences of those personally affected by colorectal cancer in Europe
• By writing about colorectal cancer, including information around new treatments and other developments
• By helping to address the issues around colorectal cancer, such as access to screening and treatments for the disease
• By helping us to identify colorectal cancer champions, who can help raise awareness of the disease.
